How Does the Rain Happen?
Have you ever wondered where the rain comes from? It looks like it falls from the sky — but how does it get up there in the first place?
☁️ It All Starts with Water
Rain begins with water on Earth — from oceans, lakes, rivers, and even puddles! When the sun shines, it warms up the water. That warm water turns into water vapor, which is a kind of gas. This is called evaporation.
Imagine water becoming invisible and floating up into the sky like magic!
🌫️ Making Clouds in the Sky
The water vapor goes high into the air. Up there, it’s much colder. So the water vapor cools down and turns back into tiny drops of water. These drops stick together to make clouds!
When clouds get full of water, they become heavy. Just like a sponge that can’t hold any more water, the clouds start to let go.
💧 Time to Rain!
The drops of water fall down to Earth — that’s rain! Sometimes, if it’s really cold, the drops turn into snow or hail instead.
So the rain is part of a big circle:
✅ Water goes up as vapor (evaporation)
✅ Makes clouds (condensation)
✅ Falls back down as rain (precipitation)
And then it all happens again!
